Apparently, no one is paying attention to the hysteria peddled by Shannon Watts and her anti-2nd Amendment cronies at Moms Demand and Everytown these days. So now she’s inventing new controversies on a strange topic: airline dress codes!
Sunday night, Watts decided that a situation being handled by a United Airlines gate agent needed her input:

It turns out the gate agent had informed a family that United requests individuals flying as “pass riders” adhere to a company dress code. The pass rider program is a benefit of free of heavily discounted air travel extended to employees and their relatives.
But, never one to miss an opportunity to stir the pot, Watts ran with her first reaction: sexism!
The Daily Wire has a great summary of what really happened and included this interesting tidbit:
There was ‘no discussion’ concerning the incident between the gate agent and Watts.
The “controversy” appears to be another case of standard operating procedure from the Watts bag of tricks. Remember, Moms Demand, which is part of anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s advocacy organization Everytown, is notorious for waging misleading pressure campaigns to bully companies into adopting their anti-2nd Amendment policies. Starbucks, Target, Panera, Sonic, Chili’s, Chipotle, Jack-in-the-Box, and Facebook have all folded in the past.
We should also note that Watts isn’t the simple “suburban mom turned activist” as she likes to portray herself. Before getting Bloomberg’s backing, she had a 20 year plus career using the surname Troughton as a high-powered PR professional for corporate giants like General Electric, Monsanto, and WellPoint.
Of course, some companies like Kroger have found that pushing back with common sense is the best way to deal with Watts. Kroger told stated, “Our long-standing policy on this issue is to follow state and local laws and to ask customers to be respectful of others while shopping.” It appears United Airlines isn’t wasting time dealing with nonsense from Watts either.
