TOP STORIES – FAKE NEWS EVERYWHERE

The media’s no good horrible week in Fake News actually started last week with ABC’s Brian Ross completely and totally botching the Mike Flynn story.  Ross went on the air to report on a “bombshell”:

“He’s prepared to testify that President Trump, as a candidate, Donald Trump, ordered him — directed him to make contact with the Russians which contradicts all that Donald Trump has said to this point.”

The fact of the matter was the contact in question took place in December, when Trump was not a candidate any longer and was actually president. Ross was suspended for 4 weeks by ABC for this ‘serious’ error’ in reporting. Given Ross’s track record, he likely should have been fired.

Bloomberg News, Reuters and the Wall Street Journal all had to walk back stories claiming that President Trump’s bank records were being subpoenaed by one of Mueller’s special prosecutor. During the White House Press Briefing on Dec. 5, Sarah Sanders blew that claim right out of the water:

“Look, I think it’s important to note — and hopefully you guys have seen the statement that Jay Sekulow, a member of the President’s legal team, has put out within the last hour — that they confirmed that the news reports that the special counsel had subpoenaed financial records relating to the President are completely false. No subpoena has been issued or received. We’ve confirmed this with the bank and other sources.

Sanders added, “I think that this is another example of the media going too far, too fast. And we don’t see it going in that direction.”

The media’s fake news problems only went downhill from there. CNN had a particular bad time.

CNN’s Alisyn Camerota said that the Anti-Trump Russian Dossier was ‘Corroborated’. For months, FBI & DOJ officials have repeatedly told Congress and investigators in that both agencies have not been able to corroborate or verify the Fusion GPS dossier.

How CNN got its report so wrong is unclear.” CNN made a Brian Ross style ‘serious error’ by incorrectly reporting that Donald Trump Jr. had received advanced notice and access to WikiLeaks document dump on the Democrats. In fact, the WikiLeaks DNC documents had been public the day prior to any email being sent to Donald Trump Jr. about them.

CNN’s Jim Acosta: ‘When Journalists Are Attacked, Journalists Have to Resist’

MSNBC’s Morning Joe: Mika Brzezinski tried to dismiss Leeann Tweeden’s claim that soon to be former Senator Al Franken (D-MN) groped her because Tweeden is a “playboy model” who “voted for Trump”. Mika stated, “I’m just wondering if all women need to be believed.”

Glenn Greenwald has a particularly stinging wrap-up with a read: The U.S. media yesterday suffered its most humiliating debacle in ages: now refuses all transparency over what happened

Washington Post reported tweets out fake news, get smacked down, then cries victim:

Video is proof – the event was indeed packed.
