Manhunt on for Luis Cruz-Rojas Accused of Rape, Kidnap and Assault in NC

Union County law enforcement is seeking 29-year-old Luis Alberto Cruz-Rojas, accused of kidnapping and raping a teenage girl and assaulting her mother before fleeing the area.

Arrest warrants list the charges as two counts of second-degree rape, one count of second-degree kidnapping and one count of assault on a female.

Local officials say that the fugitive was recently living in the Indian Trail area and but has a previous address located in the 1500 block of Walkup Avenue in Monroe, North Carolina.

Union County Police could not confirm Luis Alberto Cruz-Rojas’s citizenship status and referred American Lens to the Union County Detention Center.

Officials at the Union County Detention center could not verify his citizenship status either.

Cruz-Rojas may be driving a late 90’s to early 2000’s model Ford Explorer. The plate number is not known.
