Two Men Convicted of Voter Fraud in Moore County NC

Two men were convicted of felony voter fraud in Moore county, North Carolina in April.

Aberdeen Times reported:

Two local men were convicted on Voter Fraud charges this month in a Moore County courtroom. Dalton Shane Smith, of Cameron, North Carolina, was convicted of Felony Voter Fraud on April 3, 2017. Edward Green, of Southern Pines, North Carolina, was convicted of Felony Voter Fraud on April 25, 2017.

The charges against the men were investigated by the Moore County District Attorney’s Office at the request of the Moore County Board of Elections.

Upon investigation, it was determined that Smith and Green had voted in the 2016 presidential elections even though they were ineligible to vote. The men were indicted by a Moore County Grand Jury on February 7, 2017.

A review of their rescinded voter registration reveals that Shane Dalton was registered as a Republican who voted Absentee-1 Stop in the 2016 election.

Edward Green was registered as a Democrat and also Absentee-1 Stop in the 2016 election.
